Verasphere , A Love Story in Costume
Robert James here of NuRealtiy Productions reaching out with some news on our new short film and some collaborations that we have recently become involved with.First of all,... our 20 minute rough cut edited short film VERASPHERE: A Love Story in Costume has caught the eyes of local PBS station KQED. They have seen our cut and will be showing our film for broadcast in California on the show TRULY CALIFORNIA, later in 2019. When working with PBS, it is more of an ‘ offering’ of your work to them as they pay very little, BUT, they reach a wide audience and we are grateful for their interest in our work. We intend on premiering and screening at a few film festivals first this spring, and then it will air on PBS in late summer. As soon as these dates and details become known to us, we will send word out.
Secondly and most importantly we have entered into a relationship with the Center for Independent Documentary, for fiscal sponsorship. This amazing group supports LGBTQ content strongly and we couldn’t be happier to work with such good people to get our content to viewers and offer financial supporters authorised tax-deduction status and receipts.
I would go on and on about the film’s storyline but this funding link https://www.documentaries.org/verasphere here is a great page to show you how colorful and impactful our story of love, art and survival is…..and there’s a link to DONATE, if you are inspired by our work. Yes, this is another plea for funding,…BUT, this story is different.
This one is about a community effort and the unique story I came across about 2 long-term AIDS survivors in SF that chose to create an outrageous performance art troupe to give back to the people, instead of perishing to their awful circumstances. These guys offer their art for free and have for 25 years. PBS is a part of this and we are forging on to bring this BEAUTIFUL story to viewers…..in TWO versions.
Everyone should see this.

and read what I wrote about our new funding option below.
Goodbye Kickstarter and hello community engagement!
Funding Strategies
FUNDING STRATEGY #1 — We love our short film and need support to completely finish with original score, post production costs and festival costs.
FUNDING STRATEGY #2 — We need funding support to launch into work on a 60 minute version of this story with the goal being to screen on National PBS.
Our short film is a fun journey into the creation of VERASPHERE, and the love story of Michael and David. The 60 minute version will get deeper into the activism Michael was involved with, the art David has created for decades; as well as the amazing neighbors the guys have which includes Peaches Christ, an ex-Vegas showgirl and a buddhist muralist. PBS will eventually help us with some acquisition fees but as mentioned above, they don’t pay very much. They ARE the platform we want to work with tho as our story is one of community and inclusion and everyone should be able to view our film(s). VERASPHERE IS FREE, and we want these two films to be free to inspire a change in attitudes and invite people to look toward LOVE and acceptance of all.
We are not using a PLATFORM like KICKSTARTER, INDIEGOGO OR GOFUNDME (who just takes money from us).
WE ARE DIRECTING FOLKS RIGHT TO OUR FISCAL SPONSORS ON THE LINK ABOVE.
Peace out and much love in 2019
