Mercury Rev the indy rock band formed in 1989 has produced -Bobbie Gentry’s “The Delta Suite” Revisited.
A truly thoughtful tribute , consistent mood runs throughout with covers by a stunning array of brilliantly talented women from the music world .I waited ages for it to arrive and was not disappointed , is already in its second pressing.Unlike so many tribute albums that inevitably contain 2-3 skippable covers , this one has a beautifully consistent atmospheric quality that reflects but in my opinion does not seek to merely imitate. Steady production aspect and the liquid ,and totally ranging beautiful voices singing Bobbie Gentry’s storytelling lyrics makes for a great rainy day listen.
